Abstract

The present study intends to approach Henri Marrou’s critique to what he calls historical positivism. Let us remember that the French historian and philosopher’s epistemology of history is built up on two thematic axis around which his reflection revolves. On the one hand, his critique to historical positivism. On the other hand, his theoretical affiliation to the critical philosophy of history inherited from the German current of thought of the late Modernity, developed in a special way in Wilhelm Dilthey’s work, and which Marrou would receive from Raymond Aron.
