Abstract

Psychoanalysis is a theory and practice that is developed in different parts of the world and is linked to the name of its founder: Sigmund Freud (1856-1939). From different geographical contexts, the figure of Freud has received innumerable tributes, obituaries and reminders. Of course, in Latin America there have also been multiple and diverse commemorative events throughout the existence of psychoanalysis. In this work, specifically, various documentary sources are retrieved and analysed; they provide an overview of Freud’s important presence in the history of psychoanalysis in Latin America.
